Tournament 2: The NFAA Field Round

The Basics

The NFAA Hunter/Field Round tournament will be held on CVA’s certified NFAA Field range. The additional details are as follows:

  • Shoot either Saturday or Sunday.

  • 28 marked yardage targets on our 5-star course. The 28-target course will be divided into two halves, with one half configured as a field round (white face targets) and the other half configured as a hunter round (black face targets).

  • 4 arrows per target.

  • Minimum of 3 individuals per shooting party.

  • Range finders are allowed.

  • Shooting starts any time after 7:30, so long as you are registered and you and have an appropriate group unless otherwise announced (in the event of high turnout, we reserve the right to assign groups to starting targets in a “shotgun” start).

  • Shooting ends at 4:30 on Saturday and 2:00 on Sunday.

  • Yardages by shooting division as marked at each target. Make note of whether the target is configured as a hunter target or a field target.

  • No Mulligans!

  • NFAA Bow Styles (age divisions and/or bow style divisions may be combined according to NFAA tournament rules, at the discretion of the Tournament Director)

The Money Classes

Additional provisions governing money classes:

  • One men’s money class and one women’s money class will be offered in each of the open and traditional bow style categories.

  • Any money class shooter will shoot adult yardage, regardless of age, from the appropriate yardage stake (compound stakes for open classes; traditional stakes for traditional classes).

  • Competitors will utilize 6-5-4-3 pro-style scoring (X=6).

  • No tie breakers in this tournament; ties are possible based on total score.

  • Shooting groups by assignment, 3 or 4 per group only, and groups will not be comprised of archers from a single club or team.

  • Prize money will be paid through at least third place. If at least 16 competitors in a gender enter this tournament, prize money will be paid through fourth place. If at least 24 competitors in a gender enter this tournament, prize money will be paid through fifth place. One additional place will receive prize money in this tournament for each additional eight competitors.

  • Money class shooters are ineligible for the three-tournament total score title.
