NFAA Five-Star Certified 3D Range.

All about CVA’s 3-D Range Facility.

The Field Range Facility.

Welcome to CVA’s 3-D Range Facility, awarded a Five-Star Certification by the National Field Archery Association.

The CVA 3-D Range is under new management and has been updated with new shooting lanes and targets. The CVA 3-D Range is slated for a total of 30 targets and covers an area of approximately 9 acres.

Targets include deer, wild boar, Javelina, bear, turkey, raccoon, coyote, and bobcat. In addition to these targets, we have recently completed a simulated 'pond' area along with a wooden dock, where archers can shoot at aquatic themed targets including a carp, frogs, a giant mosquito, and 9 foot alligator.

NOTE: This shooting area is for CVA Members only.

3-DArchery Overview.

What is 3-D Archery?

The term “3-D archery” generally refers to shooting at 3-dimensional, life-like targets made from self-healing foam, in field situations which would mimic real life hunting experiences.

Early use of the targets was primarily for bowhunting practice, but, over time, shooting clubs began setting up courses to challenge hunters. These courses evolved into more competitive venues, leading into what we know today as 3-D archery.

Most early targets where made to resemble deer, but today, manufacturers like Rinehart and Mackenzie make all kinds of animals in various sizes – all the way from skunks to giraffes and everything in-between, including dinosaurs and aliens!
