What you need to know about Public Session!

What is it?

Public Session is just what it sounds like, an opportunity for the public to come out to CVA’s Public Session Range facility and experience the sport of archery, in a controlled environment, supervised by USA Archery certified Coaches and Instructors.

USA Archery developed the Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) format specifically for this type of training. JOAD teaches archery to young people, provides great opportunities for awarding achievement, and helps archers to enjoy the sport recreationally or progress to the excitement of competition! We use this format to teach adults and children alike.

CVA offers archers the opportunity to learn range safety and proper shooting technique in an environment that also fosters focus, increased self-confidence, and team-building skills. Introductory classes teach the fundamentals of proper shooting form; as the beginning archer develops, they will learn more advanced techniques.

Individuals and families interested in archery are invited to train with us. No prior experience is required. We begin with the basics, but we can also provide you with the archery skills needed to advance to longer distances and even into competitions through our JOAD Training Program (JTP).

Archers interested in challenging their abilities further, can also participate in the JOAD and Adult Achievement Pin Programs.
